Sport Betting Systems – The Winning Formulas

It is generally said that betting is a mug game. Meanwhile some are professional bettors. While they are making a living from sport betting, many are still losing consistently.

If you go down a betting office you could hear some people swearing because they have just lost. It is always the same crowd.

The thing is that no one can have a 100% winning rate. Some betting systems will come very close. The reason you place a bet is for profit, not for fun! You do not use rent money for betting, you only use any amount you can afford to lose. that’s why you have to set up what is called a betting bank.

About 30% of favourite win horse races. Knowing how to pinpoint them will bring in a consistent flow of profit. And so will laying the remaining 60% on betfair or any betting exchange, if you know how to find them.

A favourite horse that loves the ground it is racing on, and is ridden by a top jockey, for a top trainer, will be odds-on for obvious reasons. It will win more often than not.

A horse racing in a higher class (for the first time) stands no chance of winning unless something unusual happens. That horse will be up against more experienced horses!

The same applies to greyhound racing. A dog racing for the first time in a higher class, (eg: from A3 to A2) will produce a very good lay bet.

Mechanical sport betting systems, will most certainly miss the most important elements of the big picture. That is why, on top of any system you use, it is good to develop your own judgement and increase your knowledge of the specific sport you are betting on. You can do so by reading specific sections of magazines, newspapers or newsletters related to the sport of your choice.

When it comes to team sport, I have observed that any team playing against another one, five to six places below them in the league table, wins most of the time. This rule will apply to Football, Basket ball, Rugby, and so forth. A top team, playing at home against another one which is in the bottom of the table, will win, unless some extraordinary circumstances apply.

In tennis, a top seed playing against anyone, 6 to 8 places below them in the World Ranking table, will surely win. Unless they are in lack of form (after being out of tournaments for a while) or sustain an injury they have not completely recovered from. They can be outperformed if they have a poor record on the specific ground they are playing on (grass, dust or carpet).

Those who you know can not win, can still help you generate a profit if you lay them an betfair or any betting exchange successfully.

Whatever you do always paper trade first, for accuracy. when you discover the patterns and take advantage of them you are in for a juicy reward.

There is more to life than just winning and profit. You will need to back your activities with a purpose for them to be sustainable. In another word knowing why you do what you do, and doing it well is the difference between the professional and the consistent looser. And as always remember there is help at hand when you need it.
