Football, also called as association football or soccer, is considered as the most popular sport in the world. It is a team sport and played by two teams with 11 team players using a ball, known as football or soccer ball. The sport is played in a grass playing field with two goas at the center at the end of the field.
The aim of the game is to score by ensuring that the ball reaches the opposite goal, which is defended by opposing goalkeeper. The feet is use to kick the ball and the head or torso is use to intercept. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to use the hand and arms to drive the ball, only if they are their penalty area. Players are permitted to move around in any direction within the field. The opposing team can intercept the ball by tackling the opponent who has the control of the ball. But physical contact between opposing players is not allowed or restricted. The game is can only be stop by the referee of when the call is drive out off the field. The team which has more number of goals wins the games.
Football is played with a set of rules known as laws of the game. And there are seventeen laws in the law of the game. This law is produced by FIFA but uphold by International Football Association Board.
The team must have eleven team players with a goalkeeper or has to have a minimum of seven players. The basic gear and apparel that the players are necessary to wear is consisting of a shorts, shirt, footwear, shin guards and socks. Though headgear is not a compulsory as part of basic equipment, players can choose whether to wear or not to wear headgear. Headgear is used to protect our head for a possible injury. Players are not allowed to wear or bring materials that can cause danger to both teams. The goalkeeper should wear clothes that are distinctive to the other players.
